Upon completion of this web cast, participants will be able to: •Identify ways to tie abuse awareness into a center's four core services •Recognize the importance of awareness of and collaboration with victim service programs in their communities in order to provide effective information and appropriate referral •Recognize the importance of abuse education for center staff in order to create a safe environment for consumers to disclose abuse and to ensure that appropriate protective action can be taken •Recognize opportunities to incorporate abuse awareness into consumer training classes that focus on self-protection •List various advocacy issues that can address the public’s perception of victims with disabilities
